Abstract
Objectives. This study examined writing anxiety coping strategies among Arabic language students at Islamic universities in Indonesia and explored differences based on gender, academic level, and specialization. Method. This study employed a descriptive research design, and data were gathered from 1,101 students using a validated Writing Anxiety Coping Strategies Scale. Results. The results showed that positive thinking was the most frequently used strategy, while preparation, peer seeking, and relaxation were moderately used. Resignation (avoidance behavior) was the least used strategy. Significant differences were found based on gender and academic level, but not specialization. Female students used relaxation and positive thinking more, while male students showed higher resignation. Senior students exhibited greater resignation tendencies than junior students. |
Conclusion. The study highlights the need for effective interventions to help students manage writing anxiety, emphasizing structured preparation, peer support, and relaxation techniques.
