Enhancing Oral Expression Skills in Fifth-Grade Female Students in Jordan: An Experimental Study on the Role of Intellectual Mental Processes

Abstract

Background/purpose. Language is essential for communication and thought, enabling learners to convey ideas and emotions through structured speech supported by gestures, expressions, and intonation. Oral expression, a key educational skill, involves intellectual, linguistic, and physiological processes shaped by cultural and linguistic factors. This study examined the impact of intellectual and mental processes on oral expression skills in fifth-grade female students in Jordan.

Materials/methods. Using an experimental design, 30 students were divided into experimental and control groups.

Results. Results showed significant improvements in oral expression skills in the experimental group.

Conclusion.  Integrating intellectual, mental processes with traditional methods is recommended to enhance communication and learning.
